The Crossroads (22) in Lenormand: meaning and combinations

A road that splits into two or more paths, each leading into a different landscape. The Crossroads is the card of choice: options, alternatives, the moment you pick one way and leave the others behind. It can describe a single large decision or a string of small ones. The card is about freedom as much as difficulty, because having more than one road is itself a kind of opening.

In tradition

Traditionally the Crossroads is read as a decision point, alternatives and choices. Older guides add separation, since paths diverge, and travel, since they are roads after all. Some decks call the card the Paths or the Ways. The inset is the queen of diamonds. Readers often say the number of roads drawn on the card matters: two paths for a clear either-or, more for a situation with several possibilities, none of them obviously the main road. The cards at the end of each path are read as where that option leads.

How Falyora reads it

In front of another card, the Crossroads is the choice, and the second card shows what it is about: Crossroads then Fox is a job decision, Crossroads then Heart a choice about a relationship. Behind another card, it adds options or uncertainty: House then Crossroads is several possible places to live.

Falyora does not read the card as a hint about which way to go. It describes the shape of the decision: how many paths there are, how far apart they run, and what each one leads toward, which the neighbouring cards fill in.
