The Clouds (6) in Lenormand: meaning and combinations
Heavy clouds drifting across the card, often dark on one side and lighter on the other. The Clouds stand for uncertainty: a situation you cannot see clearly, mixed signals, a mood that hangs over things. It is not a disaster card. Clouds pass, and this one is mostly about the stretch of time when you cannot yet tell what is behind them.
In tradition
Tradition reads the Clouds as confusion, doubt and unclear circumstances, sometimes as passing trouble. Many guides look at the picture itself: the side of the card where the clouds are darker is said to point toward the more troubled part of the spread, and the lighter side toward where things clear. The inset is the king of clubs, and some older readers took the card to describe an unsettled or moody person. In a line, the Clouds are said to make neighbouring cards harder to read rather than worse.
How Falyora reads it
Falyora treats the Clouds as a card about visibility, not outcome. When it comes first, it is the uncertainty itself, and the second card says what it is about: Clouds then Heart is being unsure about a feeling. When it comes second, it puts a haze over its neighbour: Letter then Clouds is a message that can be read two ways.
A spread with the Clouds in it is often describing a stage where information is missing, and that is a different thing from a bad sign. The cards on the light side matter most.
Side by side
The Clouds & The Sun
Clouds then Sun is the classic clearing: confusion lifting, a decision becoming obvious, a heavy mood passing. Sun then Clouds describes a good stretch with a question mark over it. Things are going well, but something does not quite add up.
The Clouds & The Book
Clouds then Book is uncertainty about something not yet known: an exam outcome, a decision being made somewhere else, a fact you are still waiting to learn. Book then Clouds is knowledge that confuses more than it helps, information that is hard to interpret.
The Clouds & The Moon
Clouds then Moon is emotional fog: moods that are hard to name, a sense of something that will not settle into words. Moon then Clouds is a reputation clouded by rumour or misunderstanding, being seen less clearly than you would like.
The Clouds & The Crossroads
Clouds then Crossroads is a choice made without enough information, the paths visible but not where they lead. Crossroads then Clouds is the hesitation that follows having too many options, where every road looks equally unclear.
The Clouds & The Key
Clouds then Key is an answer coming out of the fog: something that was unclear finds its explanation. Key then Clouds is a solution that is not quite solid yet, an answer you have but do not fully trust.
The Clouds are the deck's way of saying "not yet visible". They describe weather, and weather moves. What the card holds is the in-between time, before you can see what was behind it all along.
