The Garden (20) in Lenormand: meaning and combinations
A park or formal garden with paths, trees and sometimes people strolling. The Garden is the card of public life: gatherings, events, social circles, the places where people meet. It describes anything that happens in the open, from a party to a professional network to a post seen by many. Its opposite is the House. The Garden is where you go when you step outside.
In tradition
Traditionally the Garden is read as society, public places and social occasions: parties, celebrations, meetings. Older guides add friendships made in company and the public side of a person's life. The inset is the eight of spades. Modern readers have extended it to audiences, social media and any network of people. In a line, the Garden is said to bring its neighbours out into the open, so a private matter lying beside it becomes known to others. Beside the House, it is the line between home and the world.
How Falyora reads it
In the lead, the Garden is the public setting or the group, and the second card says what happens there: Garden then Heart is meeting someone in company, Garden then Fox a work event. In second place it makes its neighbour public or shared: Book then Garden is a secret becoming known, Letter then Garden a message read by many.
The Garden's real subject, in Falyora, is visibility. It is often the card that raises a quiet question in a spread: how much of this matter belongs to you, and how much to the people watching it.
