The Mice (23) in Lenormand: meaning and combinations
A few mice gnawing at bread or at a sack of grain. The Mice are the card of slow loss: things eaten away bit by bit, small worries that add up, time or money that slips away without any single big event. It is a nagging card rather than a dramatic one. Its value lies in naming what is wearing you down quietly, the things too small to have been noticed one at a time.
In tradition
Traditionally the Mice are read as loss, theft and diminishment, things disappearing gradually. Older guides add worry, stress and the sense that something is being undermined from below. The inset is the seven of clubs. In a line, the Mice are said to reduce the card beside them: whatever they touch becomes smaller. Many readers also see restless energy in the card, the kind that keeps a mind busy going over the same small concerns. Read with a positive card, they are said to take some of the shine off it.
How Falyora reads it
When the Mice lead a pair, they are the erosion or the worry, and the second card says what it is about: Mice then Fish is money leaking away, Mice then House small household concerns piling up. When they follow, they wear their neighbour down: Heart then Mice is a feeling eroded by small disappointments, Fox then Mice is stress at work.
Falyora reads the Mice as stress and small loss, nothing else. What makes the card useful is scale: it points to the leaks, not the floods.

The Mice & The Sun
Mice then Sun is worry that lifts, a nagging concern that eases once things come into the light. Sun then Mice is energy or confidence slowly draining away, a good mood worn thin by small irritations.
The Mice & The Key
Mice then Key is finding what was lost, or solving the small problem that kept bothering you. Key then Mice describes an answer that slips away, a certainty that is being nibbled at until it no longer feels certain.
The Mice & The Cross
Mice then Cross is worry that becomes a burden, small concerns that add up to real weight. Cross then Mice is the kinder order: a responsibility getting lighter, bit by bit, until one day you notice it is smaller.
The Mice & The Book
Mice then Book is a lost document or something you have forgotten you knew. Book then Mice is a secret that slowly leaks out, or study eaten away by distraction.

The Mice work in small bites. That is what makes them hard to see, and also what makes them a different kind of problem from anything the size of a Mountain.
