The Woman (29) in Lenormand: meaning and combinations
A woman in a long dress, standing in profile or turned slightly away. The Woman is a person card: one specific woman in your circle, described by the cards around her. Taken alone, she is a figure waiting to be filled in. Her neighbours tell you who she is to you, what she is dealing with, and which way her attention is turned.
In tradition
Traditionally called the Lady, the Woman is read as an important woman in the matter: a partner, a mother, a sister, a friend or a colleague. As with the Man, her direction is read closely, the cards in front of her being what she looks toward and the cards behind her what is past or set aside. The inset is the ace of spades. In older layouts the space between the Woman and the Man is measured with care, and read as distance or closeness between the two people they stand for.
How Falyora reads it
To Falyora, the Woman is a specific person you already know. When she opens a pair, she is the subject and the second card describes her: Woman then Lily is a calm, experienced woman, Woman then Snake a woman handling something complicated. When she closes a pair, she is the person a matter touches: Bouquet then Woman is a gift for her or from her.
Falyora makes no assumptions about who you are or how you relate to her. The question you asked and the surrounding cards decide that.
Side by side
The Woman & The Man
Woman then Man is two people linked in one story: partners, family members, colleagues. Man then Woman is the same pair seen from his side. Which card comes first shows whose part the reading follows, not who matters more.
The Woman & The Bouquet
Woman then Bouquet is a woman who brings warmth or a gift, someone generous or socially at ease. Bouquet then Woman is appreciation directed at her: thanks, an invitation, a gesture made with her in mind.
The Woman & The House
Woman then House describes a woman at the centre of a household, or someone deeply attached to home. House then Woman is a woman within your family or under your roof.
The Woman & The Letter
Woman then Letter is a message she writes or sends, her side of things put into words. Letter then Woman is news about her, or a document that concerns her more than anyone else.
Related cards
The Woman card has no fixed character of its own. That is the point of it: it lets the reading speak about a real person in your life instead of a type.
